Holiday Letter 2005
Steve and Yvonne Coester
Here's a quick summary of our events for the year of 2005.
I started the 2004 letter with the news that Dean had been furloughed by United Air Lines. After close to a year of flying for SkyWest Dean was recalled to United and has been flying the 737 out of Chicago. This has been a problem because Dean lives in his new house in Parker, CO near Denver. In December Dean finally got a transfer to fly from Denver which should simplify his life. His home backs onto a gulch where he regularly spots deer, foxes and other wildlife. Here's Dean's home:

Yvette lost her job nursing at Wuesthoff Hosital because she had one too many sick days because she was caring for Bodie. Bodie is looking well but is still immobilized and is a full time job for Yvette. Stephen is in a growth spurt and is now taller than me. He's had trouble with the growth plates in his feet and has been sidelined from sports for the past couple of months.

Stephen, Kristen and Nick are all doing great. All three are near straight A students and the most beautiful kids around. Kristen took second in a Junior High district tennis tournament. Nick is now in Cub Scouts and loves it. Stephen is a great athlete and we're eager for him to be able to return to the playing fields and tennis court.
Steve has returned to playing tennis after a twenty-eight year layoff. He plays four or five days a week and is in two leagues. Recently won the Gold Medal in his age group at the Sanford Golden Age Games and will compete at State.

In June we went camping with Stephen to Georgia and North Carolina. We rafted the Chattooga, rode horses in the Smokys and hiked the Tallulah Gorge. Also had wonderful visits with Carol and Charlie Dunn both going and coming.

In July Kristen and Nick visited and we spent a couple of days at the Ron Jon Resort on Cocoa Beach. Lots of fun at their water park. They also love the Brevard Zoo Then we went with them to Dean's home and spent a week there. Visited two State Parks and the Denver Aquarium.

Seems that next was our cruise to Alaska on the Oosterdam with seven other USNA 63 18th Company couples. It was our first cruise and we loved it. The ship and the shore excursions were grand and it's always a treat to get together with my classmates.

In October we visited Del and Pat Campbell along with several other high school classmates for a wonderful time of tennis and socializing. Really fine people and a fun time capped by a shrimp feast.

During the year we had several visits from Swedish friends. Gunilla and Lasse Creamer came and we took them air boating on the St. John River. Gunilla worked with Yvonne way back in 1961. Also took another Swedish visitor Micheal kayaking in the swamps nearby. Yvonne and Kurt Sundberg also dropped by on their annual golfing vacation.

I think that's about it except for our upcoming year ending ski trip which will be just Stephen and me with Dean joining us at Breckenridge. That's what happened to us in 2005. Let us hear your adventures.
Best Wishes for the Holidays and 2005
Steve and Yvonne
